It seems like every time you turn on the news there is a new tech startup company that came up with an inventive way to do something techy. Their idea catches on and a multibillion dollar international tech conglomerate purchases their idea. Then these individuals become instant millionaires. Every time a news story like this appears people shake their heads and wonder why they didn’t come up with the idea.
Although there are a lot of tech companies that are making people rich, technology is not the only business out there. There are some old-fashioned businesses that have a relatively low overhead that have been producing a steady income for some time and then go on to produce wealth. They might not make a person a millionaire overnight, but with a little bit of planning, they can help an individual create wealth over time.
A great example of this is a car wash. A carwash does require an initial investment. However, that initial investment pays for itself in a short amount of time. What’s nice about a carwash is that it does not require a lot of personnel. Once the carwash is set up and once the carwash is working, it requires relatively little maintenance and has relatively little overhead. Car wash maintenance and carwash parts are about the only expense a carwash owner has in addition to the normal expenses of water, electricity, and detergent. What is beautiful about a carwash is that it can work 24 hours a day seven days a week. It is constantly producing steady revenue that can be invested in creating more carwashes.
Janitorial services require very little startup. A person could start a janitorial service on their own cleaning one or two offices a day. As their resources grow, they can add on more clients and eventually hire others to do the work for them. Soon they will find themselves with a substantial income from a business that required very little initial investment.
Unfortunately, not everyone can be an Internet tech millionaire. However, there are a number of non-tech related businesses that can produce a steady income and even wealth for many people out there.
